Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening - Robert Frost Universal Children's Day takes place annually on November 20 by United Nations recommandation. But in India it is celebrated on November 14 which is the birthday of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru  who was very fond of children, they also loved him and called him as Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru). On this occassion I am sharing one of his favorite poem written by Robert Frost. Jawaharlal Nehru had copied the last stanza of the poem in his own hand, sometimes before his death and always kept it by his side.

Whose woods these are I think I know,His house is in the village though,He will not see me stopping here,To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer,To stop without a farmhouse near,Between the woods and frozen lake,The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bell a shake,To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep,Of easy wind and downy flake.

Platinum Day Of Love

Platinum Day of love is a day we discover true love which starts and never ends. It takes only a moment to realize the eternal love. That love is like metal platinum which does not fade or tarnish with time,it always stays true. This contest by preciousplatinum.in on indiblogger.in has provided a place where I can share my dream of  Platinum Day Of Love. I have weaved that dream in a poem which is also unique for having stanzas in both Hindi and English.

सर्दी कि वो एक शाम थी,        देर से घर मैं लौटा था,फ़ोन भी न मिल पाया था,        उसका दिल यूँ डोला था।
She shouted as I entered,       hugged me & cried in dismay,All those distances were ended,       that was our Love's platinum day,
उस पल में जो एहसास था,       वो हमेशा रहना य…

Diwali Light

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 43; the forty-third edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton. The theme for the month is "LIGHT"  Diwali Light
Diwali is the festival of light. On this day we celebrate the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after an exile of fourteen years. This festival was the beginning of happiness and joy for the people of Ayodhya, we also pray that Diwali Light will bring prosperity in everybody's life. This experimental poem shows one such prayer with a message of Happy Diwali.
Happiness for all,Arrogance very small,Pride where fall,Purity stands tall,You and me with love enthrall,
Such should bring Diwali light, Removing evil, removing our plight.
Darkness goes glim,Inflation where slim,War becoming dim,Affection freely swim,Loneliness gets trim,I where in the end is coming,
Such should bring Diwali light, Removing evil, rem…
