क़ाफ़िले में सुब्ह के इक शोर है!

या'नी ग़ाफ़िल हम चले सोता है क्या?

Qafile Mein Subhah Se Ek Shor Hai,

Yaani Ghafil Hum Chale Sota Hai Kya? 

There's is stir in the caravan since the morning,

O heedless! You enjoy your sleep while I am departing,

सब्ज़ होती ही नहीं ये सरज़मीं,

तुख़्म-ए-ख़्वाहिश दिल में तू बोता है क्या?

Sabz Hoti Hi Nahin Ye Sarzameen, 

Tukhm-e-Khwahish Dil Mein Tu Bota Hai Kya?

There's no chance that this soil will flourish,

In her heart that seed of desire will never nourish.

ये निशान-ए-इश्क़ हैं जाते नहीं,

दाग़ छाती के अबस धोता है क्या?

Ye Nishaan-e-Ishq Hain Jate Nahin,

Dagh Chati Ke Abus Dhota Hai Kya? 

These marks of love never go apart,

it's futile to wash these stains of your heart,

ग़ैरत-ए-यूसुफ़ है ये वक़्त-ए-अज़ीज़,

'मीर' उस को राएगाँ खोता है क्या?

Ghairat-e-Yusuf Hai Waqt-e-Azeez,

'Meer' Us Ko Raenga Khota Hai Kya? 

This precious time is the time of self-respect,

'O Meer!' why losing it without effort and effect.
