Wo Kaun Hai Jo Mujh Pe Taassuf Nahin Karta,

Par Mera Jigar Dekh Ki Mein Uff Nahin Karta.

Who is there that doesn't feel pity for me,

Yet I never sigh, my that courage everyone can see.

क्या क़हर है वक़्फ़ा है अभी आने में उस के,

और दम मिरा जाने में तवक़्क़ुफ़ नहीं करता। 

Kya Qahar Hai Waqfa Hai Abhi Aane Mein Us Ke,

Aur Dum Mira Jane Mein Tawakkuf Nafin Karta.

It's a cruelty that there is still a delay in her arrival,

and my breaths are not waiting for my survival.

कुछ और गुमाँ दिल में न गुज़रे तिरे काफ़िर,

दम इस लिए मैं सूरा-ए-यूसुफ़ नहीं करता। 

Kuch Aur Guman Dil Mein Na Guzre Tere Kafir,

Dum Is Liye Mein Sura-e-Yusuf Nahin Karta.

Lest some other doubt cross your heart, O! infidel,

that's why I don't recite 'the prayer of beauty' O! damsel.

पढ़ता नहीं ख़त ग़ैर मिरा वाँ किसी 'उनवाँ,

जब तक कि वो मज़मूँ में तसर्रुफ़ नहीं करता। 

Padta Nahin Khat Gair Mira Vaan Kisi 'Unwan,

Jab Tak Ki Wo Mazmun Mein Tasarruf Nahin Karta.

No one there reads my letter—in any form,

without changing its content to deform. 

दिल फ़क़्र की दौलत से मिरा इतना ग़नी है,

दुनिया के ज़र-ओ-माल पे मैं तुफ़ नहीं करता। 

Dil Fakr Ki Daulat Se Mira Itna Ghani Hai,

Duniya Ke Zar-o-Maal Pe Mein Tuf Nahin Karta.

My heart is so rich with the wealth of contentment,

that I do not pay heed in world's wealth attainment.

ता-साफ़ करे दिल न मय-ए-साफ़ से सूफ़ी,

कुछ सूद-ओ-सफ़ा इल्म-ए-तसव्वुफ़ नहीं करता। 

Ta-Saaf Kare Dil Na Mai-e-Saaf Se Sufi,

Kuch Sood-o-Safa Ilm-e-Tasavvuf Nafin Karta.

 If The Sufi fails to cleanse his heart with pure wine;

than the study of of Sufism brings no true benefit or purity of divine.

ऐ 'ज़ौक़' तकल्लुफ़ में है तकलीफ़ सरासर,

आराम में है वो जो तकल्लुफ़ नहीं करता। 

Ae 'Zauq' Takalluf Mein Hai Takleef Sarasar,

Aaram Mein Hai Wo Jo Takalluf Nahin Karta. 

O 'Zauq', excessive formality brings nothing but distress;

he who avoids such formality finds true comfort without any stress.
