इब्न-ए-मरियम हुआ करे कोई। (Ibn-e-Mariyam Hua Kare Koi) Let Someone Be Messiah of This Age - Mirza Ghalib 

This Mirza Ghalib ghazal is repentance of loving a heartless beloved. He said that for him one who can cure this pain of love is Messiah (Son of Mary - Jesus). He found no remedy of his pain but to lament throughout his life in that situation because he has also characterized his beloved who offers no solution. इब्न-ए-मरयम हुआ करे कोई, 

मेरे दुख की दवा करे कोई।

Mere Dukh Ki Dava Kare Koi 

Let someone be Messiah (son of Mary - Jesus) of this age,
if he can't cure my pain why would with him I attach.

शरअ' ओ आईन पर मदार सही,

ऐसे क़ातिल का क्या करे कोई। 

Shara-o-Aain Par Madar Sahi,

Aise Qatil Ka Kya Kare Koi.

As far as religious & secular law go,
with such a murderer what can one do?

चाल जैसे कड़ी कमान का तीर,

दिल में ऐसे के जा करे कोई। 

Chaal Jaise Kadi Kamaan Ka Teer,

Dil Mein Aise Ke Ja Kare Koi.

One who walks like an arrow from the bow,
how such a person place in her heart bestow.

बात पर वाँ ज़बान कटती है,

वो कहें और सुना करे कोई। 

Baat Par Wan Zabaan Katti Hai,

Wo Kahein Aur Suna Kare Koi.

You are interrupted when you speak there,
where she say something and you don't care.

बक रहा हूँ जुनूँ में क्या क्या कुछ,

कुछ न समझे ख़ुदा करे कोई। 

Bak Raha Hun Junoon Mein Kya-Kya Kuch,

Kuch Na Samjhe Khuda Kare Koi.

In madness what all things I am babbling,
Oh lord I wish no one understands anything.

न सुनो गर बुरा कहे कोई,

न कहो गर बुरा करे कोई। 

Na Suno Gar Bura Kahe Koi,

Na Kaho Gar Bura Kare Koi.

Don't listen if someone speak wrong,
don't speak if someone do wrong.

रोक लो गर ग़लत चले कोई,

बख़्श दो गर ख़ता करे कोई। 

Rok Lo Gar Galat Chale Koi,

Baksh Do Gar Khata Kare Koi.

Stop if someone is taking a wrong path,
if someone made a mistake forgive instead wrath. 

कौन है जो नहीं है हाजत-मंद,

किस की हाजत रवा करे कोई। 

Kaun Hai Jo Nahin Hai Haajat-mand,

Kiski Ki Hajat Rawa Kare Koi.

Who is there who is not needy?
so whose needs one can fill with charity?

क्या किया ख़िज़्र ने सिकंदर से,

अब किसे रहनुमा करे कोई। 

Kya Kiya Khizr Ne Sikandar Se,

Ab Kise Rahnuma Kare Koi.

What Khizr the guide did to Alexander the great?
Whose guidance then one seek in the lost state?

जब तवक़्क़ो ही उठ गई 'ग़ालिब',

क्यूँ किसी का गिला करे कोई। 

Jab Tawakko Hi Udh Gai 'Ghalib',

Kyun Kisi Ka Gila Kare Koi.

'Ghalib' when there are no expectations remain,
then why would about anyone I complain.

हज़ारों ख्वाहिशें ऐसी - ग़ालिब 

हज़ारों ख्वाहिशें ऐसी के हर ख्वाहिश पे दम निकले,

बहुत निकले मेरे अरमां, मगर फिर भी कम निकले,

Thousands of desire, each worth dying for..

many of them i have realized,yet i yearn for more.

डरे क्यूँ मेरा कातिल?क्या रहेगा उसकी गर्दन पर?

वो खूं जो,चश्में तर से उम्र भर यूँ दम-बा-दम निकले,

Why should my killer(lover) be afraid? No one will hold her responsible

for the blood which continuously flow through my eyes all my life.

निकलना खुल्द से आदम का सुनते आये हैं लेकिन,

बहुत बे आबरू हो कर तेरे कूंचे से हम निकले,

We have heard about the dismissal of Adam from Heaven,

with a more humiliation, I am leaving the street in which you live..

भरम खुल जाए ज़ालिम!तेरी कामत की दराज़ी का,

अगर इस तराह पर पेचो ख़म का पेचो ख़म निकले,

Oh tyrant,your true personality will be known to all,

if the curls of my hair slip through my turban!

मगर लिखवाए कोई उसको ख़त, तो हमसे लिखवाए,

हुई सुबहा,और घर से कां पर रख कर कलम निकले,

But if someone wants to write her a letter,they can ask me,

every morning i leave my house with my pen on my ear,

हुई इस दौर में मनसूब मुझ से बादा आशामी,

फिर आया वो ज़माना,जो जहां में जामो-जाम निकले,

In that age,I turned to drinking(alcohol),

and then the time came when my entire world was occupied by alcohol.

हुई जिनसे तवक्का खस्तगी की दाद पाने की,

वो हमसे भी ज़्यादा खस्ता-ए-तेघ-इ-सितम निकले,

From whom I expected justice/praise for my weakness,

turned out to be more injured with the same cruel sword.

मोहब्बत में नहीं है फ़र्क जीने और मरने का,

उसी को देख कर जीते हैं,जिस काफ़िर पे दम निकले,

When in love,there is little difference between life and death,

we live by looking at the infidel who we are willing to die for..

ज़रा कर ज़ोर सीने पे के तीरे पुरसितम निकले जो,

वो निकले तो दिल निकले,जो दिल निकले तो दम निकले।

Put some pressure on your heart to remove that cruel arrow,

for if the arrow comes out,so will your heart...and your life.

खुदा के वास्ते परदा न काबे से उठा ज़ालिम,

कहीं ऐसा न हो यहाँ भी वही काफिर सनम निकले।

For God's sake,don't lift the cover off any secrets you tyrant

the infidel might turn out to be my lover...

कहाँ मैखाने का दरवाज़ा ग़ालिब और कहाँ वाइज़,

पर इतना जानते हैं कल वो जाता था के हम निकले,

The preacher and the bar's entrance are way apart,

yet I saw him entering the bar as I was leaving!

 हज़ारों ख्वाहिशें ऐसी के हर ख्वाहिश पे दम निकले,

बहुत निकले मेरे अरमां, मगर फिर भी कम निकले,

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे।

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे,

उसको तो मुझसे दूर न कर,मुझे पाने दे,

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे।

पानी सा शीतल है वो तो,

बादल सा कोमल है वो तो,

इस दुनिया के बहकावे में उसको ना आने दे,

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे।

कुछ देर वही तो रूककर,वक़्त मुझे दे देता है,

मुझको वही तो छूकर एहसास तेरा दे देता है,

डर कर संगदिल दुनिया से क्यूँ कहीं और उसे जाने दे,

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे।

मेरी तरह वो भी शर्मीला सा लगता है,

देख कर मुझको वो भी इधर-उधर छुप जाता है,

ये ही अदा तो कातिल है,यूं ही उसे शर्माने दे,

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे।उसको तो मुझसे दूर न कर,मुझे पाने दे।

ना हस्ता है ना रोता है,चुप चाप है मेरी ही तरह,

दर्द अब वो सहता है,सहता था मै जिस तरह,

आँखें कभी-कभी नम मगर करलेता है, कर लेने दे।

तेरे साय को तो चाहने दे।
