शायरी # 22 : इश्क़ (Couplet #22 : Love)

When love is in the air there is nothing better than to describe it in a sher ( couplet). This sher tells that the ailment and the treatment is same i.e Love. Happy Valentines Day. 

आँखों में गिरफ्तार कर मोहताज करता है,

ये इश्क़ यूहीं दर्द-ए-दिल का इलाज करता है।

Aankhon Mein Giraftar Kar Mohtaj Karta Hai,

Ye Ishq Yuhin Dard-e-Dil Ka Ilaaj Karta Hai.

Pyaar Ki Raah Chune

प्यार की राह चुने। (Pyaar Ki Raah Chune)

Season of love starts with valentine week i.e the various days denoted to express your feelings for somebody. Feb 7 is Rose Day, Feb 8 is Propose Day then comes Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, Kiss Day and finally Valentine Day from 9th to 14th February respectively. I believe that love needs no day to express but in the popular culture if we have a dedicated day for it enjoy it fully with your loved one. Here in this Hindi poem there is a conversation between a boy and a girl of expressing their love for each other. They think that the world and the society always remain against those who love so they must unite without thinking about anybody but only about their love. They decided to walk on the path of love leaving hatred aside. I hope you will enjoy this poem. Happy Valentine Day. 

प्रेमी (Premi) :
तेरी बाँहों में आराम मिले,
न इससे भला कोई काम मिले,
दुनिया को भुलाये बैठा हूँ, तेरी यादों में खोया रहता हूँ। 
Teri Bahon Mein Aaram Mile,
Na Isse Bhala Koi Kaam Mile,
Duniya Ko Bhulaye Baitha Hun, Teri Yadon Mein Khoya Rehta Hun.

प्रेमिका (Premika) :

जो हाल तेरा वही हाल मेरा,

भीड़ में भी तनहा रहती हूँ, दिखता रहता है तेरा चेहरा,

बेगाने सब अब लगते हैं इतना हुआ ये रिश्ता गहरा। 

Jo Haal Tera Wahi Haal Mera,

Bheed Mein Bhi Tanha Rehti Hun, Dikhta Rehta Hai Tera Chehra,

Baigana Sab Ab Lagte Hain, Itna Hua Ye Rishta Gehra.

प्रेमी (Premi) :
ज़माने के अब सब बंधन तोड़,
आ दिल से दिल का नाता जोड़। 
रोकेंगे-टोकेंगे दुनियावाले मगर इनकी सारी फिकरें छोड़। 
Zamane Ke Ab Sab Bandhan Tod,
Aa Dil Se Dil Ka Nata Jod.
Rokenge - Tokenge Duniyawale Magar Inki Saari Fikrein Chodd.

प्रेमिका (Premika) :
ऐसा ही इरादा मेरा है,
ये जो मर्यादाओं ने घेरा है, इन पर बीते वक़्त का पहरा है,
आज नए  नियम चुनें, प्यार की राह चुने। 
Aisa Hi Irada Mera Hai,
Ye Jo Maryadaon Ne Ghera Hai, In Par Beete Waqt Ka Pehra Hai,
Aaj Naye Niyam Chune, Pyaar Ki Raah Chune.

आज मौसम हरा-भरा सा है,

फिर किसी ने इश्क़ किया होगा। 

Aaj Mausam Hara-Bhara Sa Hai,

Phir Kisi Ne Ishq Kiya Hoga.

Love : The Ultimate Destination

According to me each day is the day of love. Whatever you do from your heart is an act of love an act for which you never feels bad and which never hurts anyone. Today, however is the official day of love i.e Valentine's Day the birthday of Saint Valentine who used to love children and give them food,clothes, sweets and toys. This day is now related more with romance than with its appeal of universal harmony and love. I wish you a happy Valentine's day with this poem.

We all run for those things which have short or limited shelf life like money,power and property, all materialistic things which have an end. This poem is about that thing which keep you alive even after death. 

Money!

It decreases with distribution.

No returns from any contribution.

Power!

Its grip loses with age and time,

receives backbiting without spending a dime.

Property!

Other have share in these possessions,

Depreciated in each period of recession. 

Love!
Which increases with distribution,
You will get more in each contribution,
timeless, ageless and your own,
give remembrance when you are gone,
your survival kit in recession,
Love is the ultimate destination.
The power which always survive,
after death in memories which keep you alive.

तुम्हारे इश्क़ में! (Tumhare Ishq Mein)

Happy Valentines Day. This is the time of the year for love. When you express your feelings to your loved ones. But this is also the time to realize that true love is in giving without worrying about getting it back in return. This ghazal is about one such love. Enjoy this to enjoy the true spirit of love where one is happy even after losing all he/she have including one's life.

तुम्हारे इश्क़ में ख़ुद को मिटा दिया देखो,

ज़मानेभर से रिश्ता भुला दिया देखो। 

Tumhare ishq mein khud ko mita diya dekho,

Zamanebhar se rishta bhula diya dekho.

कोई जो रोक कर पूछे है अब पता मेरा,

क़दमों में तेरे सर अपना झुका दिया देखो। 

Koi jo rok kar pooche hai ab pata mera,

Kadmon mein tere sar apna jhuka diya dekho.

मोहब्बत कैसे करते हैं ये मालूम नहीं,

घर-बार अपना हमने गवा दिया देखो।  

Mohabbat kaise karte hain ye maloom nahin,

Ghar-baar apna humne gawa diya dekho.

बताओ राज़ क्या दिल में छुपाए बैठे हो,

चीर के हमने दिल अपना दिखा दिया देखो।

Batao raaz kya dil mein chupaye baithe ho,

Cheer ke humne dil apna dikha diya dekho.  

न जाने क्या वजह थी नज़र चुराने की,

जुदा सांसों को ज़िन्दगी से कर दिया देखो।

Na jaane kya wajah thi nazar churane ki,

Juda sanson ko zindagi se kar diya dekho.

तुम्हारे इश्क़ में ख़ुद को मिटा दिया देखो,

ज़मानेभर से रिश्ता भुला दिया देखो। 

Tumhare ishq mein khud ko mita diya dekho,

Zamanebhar se rishta bhula diya dekho.

The Seven Stages Of Love(इश्क़ के सात मक़ाम)

Arabic literature and sufi traditions describes seven stages of love and after the movie 'Dedh Ishqiya' all of us also knew that these seven stages of love are दिलकशी (Attraction),उन्स (Attachment),मोहब्बत (Love),अक़ीदत (Trust/Reverence),इबादत (Worship),जूनून (Madness) and मौत (Death). At this time of the year ( Valentine Week) when the Love is in the air   I am sharing my couplets (शेर ) which are based on these seven stages of love written at different times. I hope you will like my effort and share anything related to these seven stages of love at the comment section of this post. 1. दिलकशी (Attraction) : The first stage of love where eyes meet,spark is initiated and the journey of love begins.

वो मेरी तरफ देख कर गुज़र गए,

ना कुछ कहा ना बात की,

ना रुक के मुलाकात की,

डाल कर मुझपर बस एक नज़र गुज़र गए,

वो मेरी तरफ देख कर, देख कर गुज़र गए।

2.उन्स (Attachment) : The second stage starts with fondness where a feeling of strong connection comes.

 आज की बारिश थी या की उनका प्यार था,

  जो बरसता ही गया मेरी चाहत की तरह,

यूँ तो लबों से न कभी उसने किया इकरार था,

    उनकी आँखों को मगर समझा में होंटों की तरह।

3.मोहब्बत (Love) : The most blissful of all stages. Here you started feeling at top of the world unaware of other things in life just lost in thoughts of your beloved.

यूहीं रात दिन जगूं,

पीछे तेरे आके मै रुकूँ,

तुझसे कभी मगर,ये कह भी न सकूं,

4.अक़ीदत (Trust/Reverence) : This stage initiates the process in love which ultimately leads to death. Here one started trusting someone more than anything and anyone. After this there is no turning back in love.

मोहब्बत में इतना ही हासिल किया है,

कि खुद को मिटाकर भी हस्ते हैं हम।

5.इबादत (Worship) : In this stage love reaches at the extend of worshiping the beloved where nothing can be wrong with the object of worship.Here love not ends even after a denial by the beloved instead leads to the next stage of love.

तुझसे मोहब्बत करता रहूँगा,तू मिले या न मिले।

तुझपे ही मरता रहूँगा तू मिले या न मिले।

6.जूनून (Madness) : In this stage one finds his own identity incomplete without beloved thus his urge to have love reaches to the level of obsession and madness. 

तू ही दिल है,तू ही आरज़ू है।

हर जगह है बस तू ही तू ,तू ही तू ......

7.मौत (Death) : The final stage of love now the self identity is completely lost. Here the existence of lover depends on the existence of beloved. 

तू मैं,मैं तू हो गया,

मैं जिस्म हूँ ,तू रूह मेरी,

कहने को अब है क्या बचा,

न तू मुझसे न में तुझसे जुदा।

We can link all this stages of love with a person's quest to find god. One's mere attraction towards god leads him to the level of love where is own identity becomes the identity of his loved god. This attaches this concept of love to sufi traditions.

इश्क़ का मौसम है,वक़्त भी है प्यार का,

आज कहदो जो दिल में है,मौका सही है इज़हार का। 

Ishq ka mausam hai,Waqt bhi hai pyaar ka,

Aaj kehdo jo dil mein hai,mauka sahi hai izhaar ka.

ये सारी दूरियां ....

यूहीं रात दिन जगूं,                                        Yunhi raat din jagoon,
पीछे तेरे आके मै रुकूँ,                                    Peeche tere aake mein rukun,
तुझसे कभी मगर,ये कह भी न सकूं,             Tujhse kabhi magar,ye keh bhi na sakun,
की तू ही दिल का मेरे सुकूँ,                            Ki tu hi dil ka mere sukoon,
तू मेरे जिस्म की है रूह,                                 Tu mere jism ki hai rooh,
ज़िन्दगी तुझी में है,                                        Zindagi tujhi mein hai,
हर ख़ुशी तुझी से है,                                        Har khushi tujhi se hai,

की अब धड़कन की धुन तू ही,                        Ki ab dhadkan ki dhun tu hi,
तू ही सरगम की साज़ है,                                Tu hi sargam ki saaz hai,
जो लाऊं तेरे चेहरे पे हसी,                              Jo laun tere chehre pe hasi,
तो होता मुझे ख़ुद पे नाज़ है,                          To hota mujhe khud pe naaz hai,
मिलजा मुझे कभी अब इस तरह से तू,          Milja mujhe kabhi ab iss tarah se tu,
जैसे सागर-नदी मिलें,                                    Jaise sagar-nadi milein,
जैसे पानी में कुछ घुले,                                   Jaise paani mein kuch ghule,
के अब बेकरार हूँ,करता जो प्यार हूँ,              Ke ab be-karaar hun,karta jo pyaar hun,
जो अब तुझे पा ना पाऊंगा,                             Jo ab tujhe paa na paunga,
तो धीरे-धीरे मरता जाऊंगा,                           To dheere-dheere marta jaunga,
चलेगी फिर सांस भी नहीं,                              Chalegi phir saans bhi nahin,
दिखेगी जो संग तू नहीं,                                   Dikhegi jo sang tu nahin, 
करदे खत्म अब,सनम ये सारी दूरियां,           Karde khatam ab,sanam ye saari dooriyan,
