We All Are One

Image
We All Are One We all are one. This thought needs to be glorified now than any other time in the history of India. Never ever in any circumstances 'Muslims' were told to Go To Pakistan. Never Christians were reminded that they follow a foreign religion and funded by them. Never Sikhs criticized for doing service to humanity because those they were serving belongs to a different religion. Never Hindus believed that 'They' are snatching opportunities from 'Them.'  Such thoughts are disheartening and painful for a person like me who is grown up in a mix culture. So I decided to pen this poem and there is no better day to share it than on the occasion of Independence Day. Enjoy the poem. Happy Independence Day.  Turban, tilak, locket of cross, skullcap, between us they don't create any gap. Difference exists in the thinking of few, who restricts to become an India new. In all the years of pain and glory, we all are the part of the story. N...

Iss Mitti Mein Mit Jana Hai

Image
इस मिट्टी में मिट जाना है। (Iss Mitti Mein Mit Jana Hai) 'Iss Mitti Mein Mil Jana Hai' is voice of those Indians namely Muslims and Dalits who are treated as second class citizen nowadays. They are as much part of the nation building as any other citizen of India and didn't need any proof of their patriotism. Amid increase incidents of violence against Dalits & Muslims by Gau Rakshaks this Hindi Kavita authenticate their attachment with India. On this Independence Day we must cherish our unity and deny any force trying to fill hatred in us. Happy Independence Day.  इस मिट्टी में जीना है, इस मिट्टी में मिट जाना है, कोई चाहे या न चाहे मुझे तेरा साथ निभाना है।   Is Mitti Mein Jina Hai, Iss Mitti Mein Mar Jana Hai, Koi Chahe Ya Na Chahe Mujhe Tera Saath Nibhana Hai. एक नज़्म नहीं, एक रस्म नहीं,  एक वेश नहीं, एक भोजन नहीं, क्या मुझको सुनाना है, क्या मुझको खाना है, ये बताने वालों ने न अपना रिश्ता जाना है।  Ek Nazm Nahin, E...

First They Came For

First They Came For - Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) Today I am sharing 'First They Came For ' - the statement of a German pastor Martin Neimoller which is often regarded as a poem. This has become the tool of stating cowardice of elite, influential and intellectual class. In last two-three years it is widely quoted in the Indian and world context also when people supported brutalities on marginalized like refugees, Muslims, minorities, etc. Here I have also shared my Hindi rendition of a poem inspired by this one. First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. मैं चुप था ! ( Mein Chup Tha) वो घर गरीबों के जलाकर हंस रहे थे, मेरा घर बचा था, मैं चुप था।  ...

Eid-al-Fitr

Image
Eid-al-Fitr Eid-al-Fitr is a festival to celebrate the feast of breaking the fast after the month of Ramzaan. But the festivities of Eid is not complete if they are not shared with least fortunate , Muslims did this in form of Zakaat and Fitra . This poem is summarization of this festival.  Happy Eid , Eid Mubarak. Crescent moon appeared, to mark the victory of those who fasted. With alms happiness shared, Your endurance He has properly tested. In Ramzaan all your sins cleared,  Like a new born child your soul has acted,  Feast of happiness - Eid arrived, Embrace those whom destiny has rejected.
