अश्क आँखों में कब नहीं आता।(When tears don't come in eyes)- Mir Taqi Mir अश्क आँखों में कब नहीं आता, लहू आता है जब नहीं आता। When tears don't come in eyes, When blood comes then it does not. होश जाता नहीं रहा लेकिन, जब वो आता है तब नहीं आता। Consciousness is not going,but, When she comes then it does not. दिल से रूख्सत हुई कोई ख्वाहिश, गिरिया कुछ बे-सबब नहीं आता। A desire has leaved from heart, Friend! without reason it comes not. इश्क का हौसला है शर्त वरना, बात का किस को ढब नहीं आता। Bet is the spirit of love,otherwise, To bring trick in talk,who knows not.  जी में क्या-क्या है अपने ऐ हमदम, हर सुखन ताबा लब नहीं आता। How many things I have in my mind, Each word to lips arrives not.

आज फिर मुझको मारा गया है।(I Have Been Killed Again Today) आज फिर मुझको मारा गया है, आज फिर में क़त्ल हो गया हूँ। I have been killed again today, I have been murdered again today. चाहतें तो तेरी मुझको मिली न, पाने में नफरत सफल हो गया हूँ। I never received your affection, But succeeded in getting your hatred. हस्ता था में ज़माने पे अक्सर,की मोहब्बत ये क्या चीज़ होगी, अब ये दुनिया कहकहे है लगाये,कुछ ऐसा पागल हो गया हूँ। I used to laugh often on world about what is love, Now world laugh at me,such a crazy I have became. इबादत की उनकी शिकायत सुबह-शाम करता रहा में, की ख़ुद उनकी परस्तिश में अब मशगूल हो गया हूँ। I complained about her prayers all days and nights, Now I keep myself busy to her worship,such a devotee I have became.  क्या तमन्ना थी मेरी बताओ,एक नज़र प्यार की चाहता था, ये फिर हंगामा क्यूँ इस कदर है,क्यूँ मै कांटा-ए-दिल हो गया हूँ। What was my desire except to have a look of love, than why all this fuss,why dirt of eye I have became. ...
