Ashamed

Unable to face your anger,
I lowered my gaze
For behaving like a stranger,
When you were in distress.

I realized my mistake,
when time repeated itself,
Like me - a friend fake,
when killed morality of self.

  13. Circles can be a terrible thing, when they bring back the uglies we've spread... I love how your poem reminds us that circles can continue turning, and that realizing what's wrong with them gives us a chance to accept responsibility and mend the broken.
