A Christmas Carol Since two months or more I haven't posted anything here because I am suffering from an ailment. It is not that I was always not able to write but I didn't feel to write but what a better day than Christmas for a comeback. I am posting a small Christmas poem for this festival i.e birthday of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas. A Christmas Carol with his ghosts of past,present and future wants to say leave greed,hatred,selfishness,meanness and happily stay that's what Christmas also reminds us each year, make good each day. 

Two Minute Medley # 8  Dr S. Radhakrishnan 's birthday is celebrated as Teachers Day in India. Happy Teachers Day and also festivals who went away giving happiness in our life. Happy Raksha Bandhan and Happy Janmashtami.  Sit, stand, read and write, efforts to make our future bright. Eid-ul-Zuha - Share and Care This festival's actual motive is to recreate Abraham's act of readiness to sacrifice his own son for Allah's command. This not shows Allah promote killing but shows Abraham and his son's trust in God that HE will not do bad to them. That's what exactly happen his son was replaced by an animal and since then it become a tradition among Muslims to replicate the act. It is advised that sacrifice should be perform with cleanliness and with not pomp & show. The meat obtained should be divided in three parts out of which only one part is kept for self and other two are distributed among poor,needy and neighbors,friends respectively. (Kya Khoya Kya Paya Jag Mein) What Has Lost and Earned In The World - Atal Bihari Vajpayee Apart from great orator, a statesman and a gentleman former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also a great poet. He died on 16th August 2018 in AIIMS Hospital , Delhi. His ' kavita ' shows his philosophies, courage and determinations. In this poem he was valuing his life by calculating what he has lost and earned in the journey. I have tried to translate it there so that it can reach a wider audience. We all pray for him to get the best place in heaven. We All Are One We all are one. This thought needs to be glorified now than any other time in the history of India. Never ever in any circumstances 'Muslims' were told to Go To Pakistan. Never Christians were reminded that they follow a foreign religion and funded by them. Never Sikhs criticized for doing service to humanity because those they were serving belongs to a different religion. Never Hindus believed that 'They' are snatching opportunities from 'Them.'  Such thoughts are disheartening and painful for a person like me who is grown up in a mix culture. So I decided to pen this poem and there is no better day to share it than on the occasion of Independence Day. Enjoy the poem. आगाज़ तो होता है अंजाम नहीं होता। (Aagaaz To Hota Hai Anjaam Nahin Hota) - Start Happens But The End Doesn't Come - Meena Kumari  Most of us know Meena Kumari as Hindi film heroine who excelled in every character she portrayed on screen but she was also a poetess. The pain and turmoil in her which was often shown by the characters portrayed by her was mere half representation of her mental state, the real her can be discovered in her 'Shayari ' and ' Ghazal'. She used to write under the pseudonym 'Naaz' . You can sense a feeling of longing in her work as if she was hoping to achieve something or someone. Today (1st August 2018) on the occasion of her 85th Birth Anniversary I am sharing one of her ghazal with translation done by me to celebrate the poetess in her. I hope you all will like it. अब तो मज़हब कोई ऐसा भी चलाया जाए। (Ab To Mazhab Koi Aisa Bhi Chalaya Jaaye) My Blog has crossed 100 translations of about 50+ poets which I think is a great achievement for a blog which is continuously updating on Ghazals, Kavita , Poems and translation. In this journey I have touched almost every emotion and in covering translations of these poets I have understood their writing style better. The blog will complete 6 years this August 30 and currently it has about 365 posts. The poem I have translated here is of 'Gopaldas Neeraj ' who is famous because he was also a Hindi film lyricist who penned songs like Phoolon Ke Rang Se, O Meri Sharmilee, etc. He passed away on 19th July 2018 at the age of 94 years. His death reminded me of his literary work in both Hindi Kavita and Urdu Ghazal . न मुहँ छुपा के जीए हम न सर झुका के जीए। (Na Muhn Chupa Ki Jiye Hum Na Sar Jhuka Ke Jiye) -  I am sharing here a ' Qita ' written by Sahir Ludhianvi which is recently used in Hindi movie 'Sanju '. A song inspired from it also penned by Sahir for the film ' Humraaz' (1967 ) staring Sunil Dutt in the lead role. Literal meaning of Qata is ‘separated’. Qata stands for a series of couplets in a ghazal having continuity of thought. A ghazal having one or more Qatas is called Qata-Band ghazal . Qatas also have independent existence comprising at least four lines. In a Qata , the second and fourth lines follow the same rhyming scheme. (Qita meaning from Rekhta ). मैं क्यूँ लिखता हूँ ? (Mein Kyun Likhta Hun?) I often asked this question to myself that why I write when I don't have many readers?  Not only on blog but in real life also those who know I write stories/poem never complain when I don't write. When I keep things to myself ? When I pour untold emotions in my writing no one ever noticed but I have no regrets and I have some other reasons to write which I better keep to myself. Eid in Palestine The world has endless problems some out of mistakes and some out of power yet people decode the every possible way to be happy and satisfied. Palestine is one such place and Palestinians are such people who are trying to remain hopeful when they are surrounded by debris of their houses and having pain of losing their loved ones. They are observing Ramzaan fast in such condition and will join Eid celebrations with the world also. Their spirit and never say die attitude prompted me to write this small poem for Eid dedicated to them. Happy Eid to all.  Shattered, tattered, with bleak hope, faith giving them power to cope, in love, peace, brotherhood has the scope, to tie the festivities & happiness with one tightrope. Their spirit is broken but not destroyed, in small occasions they are satisfied, Eid is the festival of giving and to fill void, pray that on a new day, new cheerfulness buoyed.

जब हुआ इरफ़ाँ तो ग़म आराम-ए-जां बनता गया। (Jab Hua Irfan To Gham Aaram-e-Jaan Ho Gaya) - Majrooh Sultanpuri  Majrooh Sultanpuri is famous Indian poet and lyricist. The she r (couplet) ' Mein Akela Hi Chala Tha......" from this ghazal is famous and prompted me to share the ghazal associated with it. In this ghazal the poet is talking about enlightenment and content which can be also seen as getting the love of his beloved which make him complete. सूनापन! (Sunapan) - Lonliness - Mahadevi Verma 27th April is Birth Anniversary of Mahadevi Verma. She perfectly portrays the emotions of love, longing,betrayal, void , etc in her Hindi poems. हम चुप रहेंगे ! (Hum Chup Rahenge!) We Will Remain Silent! This is the high time we must speak. If not walk on roads, or in candle light marches, we at least should vent out our anger so that people who are ruling as must know that we can't tolerate it any more. Recently so many rape incidents has stirred the nation be it rape and murder of 8 year old in Kathua, Unnao rape where victims father was killed, Assam rape, Surat gang rape again with a minor, Siwan (Bihar ) rape of a deaf and dumb girl and there may be more which are not reported with the fear that nothing will achieved by reporting the incident. रुके-रुके से कदम। (Ruke-Ruke Se Kadam) - Halted Steps by Gulzar Ruke-Ruke Se Kadam written by Gulzar   also appears in the film Mausam 1975 sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The Ghazal describes the limitations one has in love and life. The poet says that he is walking by stopping in between but walked away because it gives satisfaction to beloved even though he himself is dissatisfied. Here I translated this ghazal .  रुके रुके से क़दम रुक के बार बार चले,  क़रार दे के तिरे दर से बे-क़रार चले।  Ruke Ruke Se Kadam Ruk Ke Baar Baar Chale, Karaar De Ke Tere Dar Se Be-karaar Chale. Festival of Colors - Holi Holi is the Indian festival of colors. Colors denotes respect,joy and compassion towards each other that's why people forget all their differences during this festival. Like each year I also have to offer something on this occasion, so here I am presenting a poem with the flavor of the season. Happy Holi to all. May the festival help us strengthen our relations with each other.  The festival of color has all the required notion, to spread the flavors of joy,of love and compassion. Hug each other and forget all differences & tension, for creating sweet memories this is perfect occasion. There are who even pollute this festival's loving tradition, ignore and stop them to play colors with passion. Life is tough, at each step offers various prohibition, live that day as celebration of god's favorite creation. #######

Our Constitution Celebrating one more Republic Day on my blog is a great feeling. The constitution is an oath which make us one as a nation without it we have no national identity. It guarantees equality,liberty, freedom, socialism and secularism to all the people of India. But these values are in danger today from some fringe elements which kicking them from their feet and sadly they are rising because of the apathy and indifference of our government bodies which are also created by constitution. This year my poem giving highlight of constitutional values and how they are under threat. Hope constitution always remain strong. Happy Republic Day.  An adult girl is not allowed to marry her choice, to choose her faith, to constitutional liberty rejoice, scolded,threatened,supressed when she raise voice, I am sure in multiple sessions,  they not built that weak constitution. सब एक चराग के परवाने होना चाहते हैं। (Sab Ek Charag Ke Parwane Hona Chahte Hain) - Everyone To Be A Moth of a Same Lamp Wants - Asad Badayuni  Asad Badayuni in this ghazal is telling about love and beloved. He says that it's craziness that every lover wants to love the same beloved(lady love). He describes further implication of this love and indicate that he too is in the line if gets a chance. I read it recently and decided to translate it to make it reach a wider audience. This ghazal is further elaborated here. चुपके-चुपके रात दिन (Chupke Chupke Raat Din)  Hasrat Mohani who gave us the famous slogan of independence struggle  'Inquilab Zindabad' (Long Live Revolution ) has wrote this ghazal which is also used in 1982 Hindi film Nikaah. This ghazal is like someone remembering the old days of love,togetherness and romance. The poet is recalling things from the past to affirm that he still knew about those happenings thus confirming his evergreen love.
