Aab aur Gulab

किया मुझ इश्क ने ज़ालिम को आब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता,

के आतिश गुल को करती है गुलाब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता।

Love has turned a tyrant like me to plain water slowly-slowly,

As sun's heat makes a rose bud to rose flower slowly-slowly.

वफ़ादारी ने दिलबर की बुझाया आतिश-ए-ग़म को,

के गर्मी दफ़ा करता है गुलाब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता।

Loyalty of beloved has quenched my pain of grief,

As rose dispels the effect of heat slowly-slowly.

अजब कुझ लुत्फ़ रखता है शब-इ-खिलवत में गुल रुसुं,

किताब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता,जवाब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता।

There is a strange pleasure of rosy face in lonely nights,

to address to her slowly-slowly,to listen to her slowly-slowly.

मेरे दिल को किया बेख़ुद तेरी अंखियों ने आख़िर को,

के ज्यों बेहोश करती है शराब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता।

Your eyes has made my heart to loose its senses,
like the way wine makes us unconscious slowly-slowly.

हुआ तुझ इश्क सो ऐ आतिशीं रूह दिल मेरा पानी,

के ज्यों गलाता है आतिश सो गुलाब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता।
Fire of your spirit has melted my heart into water,
like the flame dissolves rose flower slowly-slowly.

अदा-ओ-नाज़ सो आता है वोह रोशन जबीं घर सो,

की ज्यों मग़रिब से निकला आफ़ताब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता।
That radiant face comes out of home with such pride and grace,
like wise the sun rises from the east slowly-slowly.

"वली"मुझ दिल में आता है ख़याल-ए-यार-ए-बेपरवाह,

के ज्यों अंखियों में आता है ख्व़ाब आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता। 

"Wali", in my heart comes the thought of my beloved so airily,
like the way a dream comes in the eyes slowly-slowly.
