See The Sea



Just turn towards the sea,feel the cold breeze,
you will remember me and your thoughts will seize,

Our walk along the beach,
the love you used to teach,
Foot marks on the sand,
which fade before we bend,


Like moths around a light bulb,
pain have surrounded you in bulk,
For love with death they strife,
for love I wish you new life,

Smile when you see the sea,
your tears are not dear to me,
Forgive the tides which took me away,
and come out from sorrows and dismay.

So contented my soul will feel if from the sky I see
you happy forgetting me as you see the sea.

      yes the person his dead and wants her beloved to forget him and starts living happily as her tears made his soul restless

      Oh this is poignant. The person wants her happiness. Yet her happiness must include her memories of what they once shared. Never forgotten.

    This poem has a sadness about it really, as I feel that the person who is expressing these words is writing them to someone who has been left behind & hoping that they will again find happiness.

    I immediately read this a the voice of someone who had died and wants his or her beloved to forget and go on to find happiness. A sad poem. Thank you for linking this!

The Seven Stages Of Love(इश्क़ के सात मक़ाम) Arabic literature and sufi traditions describes seven stages of love and after the movie 'Dedh Ishqiya'  all of us also knew that these seven stages of love are दिलकशी (Attraction),उन्स (Attachment),मोहब्बत (Love),अक़ीदत (Trust/Reverence),इबादत (Worship),जूनून (Madness) and मौत (Death) . At this time of the year ( Valentine Week) when the   Love is in the air    I am sharing my couplets (शेर ) which are based on these seven stages of love written at different times. Na Muhn Chupa Ke Jiye Hum Na Sar Jhuka Ke Jiye

न मुहँ छुपा के जीए हम न सर झुका के जीए। (Na Muhn Chupa Ki Jiye Hum Na Sar Jhuka Ke Jiye) -  I am sharing here a ' Qita ' written by Sahir Ludhianvi which is recently used in Hindi movie 'Sanju '. A song inspired from it also penned by Sahir for the film ' Humraaz' (1967 ) staring Sunil Dutt in the lead role. Literal meaning of Qata is ‘separated’. Qata stands for a series of couplets in a ghazal having continuity of thought. A ghazal having one or more Qatas is called Qata-Band ghazal . Qatas also have independent existence comprising at least four lines. In a Qata , the second and fourth lines follow the same rhyming scheme. (Qita meaning from Rekhta ).
